A Message to Our Valued Customers: Understanding the New Texas Vape Laws
Hey Vapecation family!
As you may have heard, significant changes to Texas law went into effect on September 1st, and we want to keep you informed about how these new regulations affect our business and your favorite products. We've always been committed to providing a safe and legal shopping experience, and that commitment is more important than ever.
The new law, Senate Bill 2024 (SB 2024), has brought some major changes to the Texas vape market. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know:
What’s Banned?
-
Vapes containing cannabinoids: This is the biggest change. The law now makes it illegal to sell or market any vape product that contains cannabinoids, including hemp-derived products like Delta-8 THC, Delta-9, and CBD. The only exception is for products prescribed under the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP).
-
Vapes made in China or other "foreign adversaries": This regulation effectively eliminates many of the disposable nicotine vapes you may be familiar with, as a vast majority of them are manufactured in China.
-
Vapes that appeal to minors: The law prohibits the sale of any vape product designed to resemble common items like school supplies (pens, highlighters), toys, or cosmetics. It also bans products that use cartoon characters or other imagery that could be seen as appealing to minors.
-
Vapes containing other substances: Vapes containing substances like kratom, kava, or mushrooms are also now illegal to sell.
What Does This Mean for Vapecation?
We're adjusting our inventory to be in full compliance with the new law. You will no longer find the banned products on our shelves. While this is a significant change, our dedication to you, our customers, remains our top priority. We understand that many of you rely on these products, and we are working hard to provide legal alternatives and new products that meet the new state regulations.
We are committed to helping you navigate these changes. Our knowledgeable staff is here to answer your questions and guide you toward products that are still legal and available.
What’s Not Banned?
It's important to remember that not all vape products are affected. The new law does not ban the sale of:
-
Nicotine vape products that are not made in China or disguised as other items. We still have a wide variety of compliant nicotine products available.
-
Other hemp-derived products, like edibles and tinctures. The current law specifically targets vapes, so many other forms of hemp-derived products remain legal.
We encourage you to stay informed and reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Your safety and satisfaction are our biggest concerns, and we're here to help you every step of the way.
Thank you for your continued support as we adapt to these new regulations. We look forward to seeing you at Vapecation!
